Kathy Wolstenholme nee Ehling, a resident of Levittown, Pennsylvania needs your help. She first learned of her juvenile diabetes when she was thirteen years old. Over the years, this disease had caused a progressive deterioration in her overall health, including partial vision loss and kidney complications. She has recently been diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure. Her condition has worsened over the last 6 months and her physicians have determined that she needs a kidney transplant to survive.

In April, Kathy was evaluated and deemed an excellent candidate for transplant surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Her four siblings and daughter are undergoing a battery of tests to ensure a proper match.
As you may know, transplantation is very expensive. Even with health insurance, there are significant non-reimbursable cots. A fund raising campaign has been established by her family, co-workers and friends to help defray uncovered medical expenses, such as donor testing, deductibles, co-payments and prescriptions. A non-profit fund, Kathleen Wolstenholme Kidney Fund, has been set up to collect any donations.
It is never easy to ask for help and now is certainly no exception. At times like this, the assistance of family, friends and the community is crucial to help insure a positive outcome. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated.

On behalf of the Wolstenhome and the Ehling families, thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Hi Kathy, It was nice talking to you about fundraising. I’m sure everything will go well with your kidney transplant. You and your family have some great ideas.
I forwarded your web site to my my “spice” and my children.
My children did fundraising for their dad who has ALS a few years ago. They did a letter campaign and they had an event. The event was a huge success. The money went to Hahnemann Hospital to establish a family suite in Intensive Care so that a family member could stay at the hospital with the person who has ALS. The suite is named after my ex.
Lots of luck to you.

“Pulmonary Fibrosis…It takes your breath away!”
Hi Kathy:
I am a friend of your sister, Terry. As she has probably mentioned to you, in August 2006 I had a single lung transplant after being on oxygen for 5 years.
I was only in the hospital 11 day and pretty much back to normal in 3 months. I was even dancing at our son’s wedding reception in Nov. 2006.
I am doing absolute wonderful. The medication is a lot but you get use to it.
Best wishes to you and your family.
You have top priority right now on my prayer list.
